Designing a connected institutional platform.
In development
The new ECR Group website brings institutional information, editorial content and member profiles into one connected platform. I am responsible for its information architecture, UX/UI design and front-end and back-end development. The challenge is to make a large content system understandable: visitors need to move between news, events, publications, people and organisational information without losing context. I have developed page structures and interfaces for these different content types, supported by WordPress, PHP and MySQL. This is the most extensive digital project in this selection and is currently being completed ahead of launch. The material shown documents the working preview.
My role
Sole UX/UI designer and website developer — information architecture, front-end and back-end.
Structure before screens
The platform’s scale comes from the relationships between its content: a member belongs to a country and a party, while news, events and publications each need their own browsing and detail views. My work brings these needs into a coherent website structure.
Design and implementation together
I carry the design into the website implementation, so information hierarchy, page layouts and the underlying content system are developed together. The portfolio shows the homepage, editorial pages, member directory and profile, organisational structure, map and publication library.
